Most conventional coaches wrongly teach their players to jump up to hit the hit the ball. I say it’s wrong because
there’s a much better way.
I ask my players to hop up to the ball. This is a simple
yet highly effective way of getting them to shift their
weight onto their front foot as they go to hit the ball.
Although at first glance Jumping Up and Hopping Up look
the same, there is a hidden difference. It introduces a vital rocking motion, which increases both the pace and spin
of your service.
