Put a tennis ball in your hand and stare at it for two seconds, you will "freeze" yourself up with the ball.
"Oh, I did not know that," most people respond with surprise.
Many players are not aware that they are overly ball-conscious. They watch the ball too much and too long.
So, "Keep your eyes on the ball at all times" is wrongful instruction!!!!

我的意見:
"Keep your eyes on the ball at all times"......也許並不是一個完全正確的 statement, 但是, 並不能說它是一個錯誤的 "instruction"....
也有人曾說明, 擊球瞬間只有 4 ms, 人眼是無法看到這一瞬間的...所以擊球時要看球是不正確的...
事實上, 看球盯球, 並不是從頭到尾眼睛固定在球上......
而且, 不論你怎麼努力, 人眼的構造功能, 也無法讓你持續盯球...看球, 其實是 pursuit, saccade, optokinetic 等等功能的運用, 而且還有周邊視力(peripheral vision), 注意力的分配(例如之前張教練說的視覺分配)...
打球的時候, 眼睛會看球, 跟球, 有時會跳到對手, 跳到擊球區......很多人如果把注意力放在球上, 會自動做到這些..
另外, 至少在業餘程度, 我很少看過有球員是 overly ball-conscious(注意力太過集中在球上面), 反而較多是太注意自己的動作, 或對手, 或根本腦袋空空在打球.....
在這種時候,
"Keep your eyes on the ball at all times", 雖然並不是事實, 但是在大部份的情況下, 卻是一個 good instruction
教練的功能, 並不在解釋所有的學理給球員聽, 而是要在適當的時候, 看出球員適當的問題, 而給適當的建議...這樣的 instruction, 即使不完全符合學理, 也是 good instruction.
